Nurses work in a variety of settings ranging from the hospital to outpatient clinics, emergency rooms, community health centers, visiting nurse agencies, schools, work places, nursing homes, and the military. Nurses work in a variety of roles—staff nurses, nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists, clinical specialists, nurse researchers, nurse educators, nurse midwives, and nurse managers. Nursing continues to develop a wide body of knowledge and associated skills. Nurses are often in key management roles within health services. Indeed nursing is classified into three whereas they differ with the year they are taken and also the job they will be specialize with.

1. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) is usually have eighteen months to two years of training in anatomy and physiology, medications, and practical patient care; and in some states, it is commonly known as Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs).

2. Registered Nurses (RNs) are professional nurses who often supervise the tasks performed by LPNs, orderlies, and nursing assistants.

3. Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) are registered nurses with advanced education, knowledge, skills, and scope of practice. Nursing is a career for a lifetime.

Nurses are considered to be the heart and soul of healthcare settings and independently standing, the front line caregiver to clients.  Supporting nurses through their critical entry into the profession is not only good for the development of the nurse and the employer, but it is most important to the good of the patient. In the modern world, there are a large number of specialties within nursing. Regulation implies the intervention of the government to accomplish an end beneficial to its citizens.
